This has to be shared! Survival International captures the irony and idiocy of the western approach to "sustainable development". I experienced this first hand in Samoa as that tiny country tries to rebuild itself from a tragic tsunami that hit the islands last October. By February a host of aid agencies and development banks had assembled to help but insisting that future development be done in a sustainable way and at a scale the western agencies like the World Bank could handle!
Sadly, I can't embed this slide show but click here to review. The illustrations and wry humour convey the message very effectively. Talk about two worldviews passing like ships in the night!
